Black and Indigenous Research Internship Application

Become part of a dynamic and growing AI ecosystem through Vector’s Black and Indigenous Research Internship Program. Work alongside world-renowned Vector faculty on machine learning and deep learning research projects in areas such as: reinforcement learning, privacy, neural networks, optimization and more. To join the Vector Institute as a research intern, you must be supervised by a Vector Faculty Member.

You will require the following documents prior to starting your application:

1. CV
2. University transcripts (official or unofficial if ongoing term not yet completed) or offer letter
3. Research Statement (not required for undergraduate students)
4. Recommendations letters (optional, but beneficial if you are a PhD or Postdoctoral Fellow)

Summer internships occur from May 2022 – August 2022.

Application submission has been extended. Applications now close February 27, 2022. 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • You are a self-identified Black or Indigenous student or Postdoctoral Fellow

  • You are studying in a STEM program (Science, Technology/Computer Science, Engineering, Math)

  • You have at a minimum completed your second year in an undergraduate program at a Canadian university

  • You have completed an Intro to Machine Learning Course

The Vector Institute offers both in-person and remote internships.  Please note, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Vector Institute is only able to offer in-person internships to individuals who are currently eligible to work in Canada.
