Commercialization Session: An Introduction to Open-Source Software Licensing and the Intersection with AI
January 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Open source software is everywhere. It’s readily downloaded from GitHub and copied from Stack Overflow. Many popular AI/ML tools and libraries, such as TensorFlow, Scikit Learn, PyTorch and Caffe, are available pursuant to open source licenses. Open source software provides immense benefits and must be used purposefully to avoid the associated risks.
Join this introductory session to gain insights into the legal aspects of open source software and the intersection with AI/ML with leading open source legal experts, Wael Nackasha and Anthony Decicco, from GTC Law Group. We’ll cover:
- An introduction to open source software and the software supply chain
- The key benefits and risks of open source software, including for AI projects
- The spectrum of open source licenses
