Assistant Professor, Statistical Sciences, University of Toronto

Ricardo Baptista is an Assistant Professor in Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on probabilistic modeling and inference for problems in science and engineering. Most recently, he has developed structure-revealing generative models for these applications using computational measure transport and has analyzed their mathematical properties. Before joining the University of Toronto, he was a von Kármán Instructor in Computing + Mathematical Sciences at Caltech and a Postdoctoral Scientist at Amazon. He received his PhD in Computational Science and Engineering from MIT and his BASc in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto.
