Aleksandar Nikolov is an associate professor at the University of Toronto. He received his PhD from Rutgers University, where his supervisor was S. Muthukrishnan. From 2016 to 2026 he was a Canada Research Chair in Algorithms and Privacy. He is an affiliate of the Vector Institute and the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society.
Aleksandar is broadly interested in theoretical computer science and algorithms, and specifically in differential privacy, discrepancy theory, convex and high-dimensional geometry, and their applications to computer science.
