The Vector Institute is pleased to announce the inaugural recipients of the Vector Scholarship in Artificial Intelligence. These awards recognize promising AI talent in Ontario and support the recruitment of top students to AI-related master’s programs that prepare graduates for the workforce.

The merit-based scholarships were awarded to 66 of the best and brightest students from nine Ontario universities studying in 20 master’s programs in core-technical and complementary AI-related fields.

Scholarship recipients and students enrolled in recognized master’s programs will have early access to networking and internship opportunities with Vector’s industry sponsors – companies at the forefront of AI adoption in Canada.

Building on the success of the inaugural round of scholarships, Vector will launch the 2019-20 scholarship competition early in 2019. Details will be available here.

Scholarships, internships, and recognized AI master’s programs offered at Ontario universities will be the anchors of Vector’s new RAISE initiative, which will act as a catalyst for local AI workforce development. The Vector Institute thanks the Province of Ontario for its commitment to this initiative.

Congratulations to inaugural cohort of Vector Scholars in Artificial Intelligence:
