2022 Ontario Budget includes $107M for critical technology initiatives

Today’s 2022 Ontario Budget includes nearly $107 million over the next three years in new critical technology initiatives to support access to and the commercialization of these technologies. The province is making a focused effort to drive innovation in Ontario, and attract and retain top talent. This sectoral support will help Ontario by creating new opportunities for commercialization, preparing businesses for the future, and increasing productivity. The Province has also demonstrated support through the Growing Ontario’s Venture Capital Sector and the Building a Robust Life Sciences Sector.

In the five years since its founding, Vector Institute programs have helped Ontario organizations apply AI across sectors and solidify the province’s position as a world-leading AI hub of talent and investment attraction. Support from the government of Ontario helps the Vector Institute secure today the province’s place as a hub for the future of work tomorrow.
