Ben Davies serves as Chief Information Officer at the Vector Institute, where he oversees Vector’s scientific and business computing environments and plays a key role in advancing Canada’s national AI research infrastructure through the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy.
Ben drives enterprise architecture strategy, oversees Vector’s cybersecurity program, and ensures Vector’s AI research community has access to state-of the-art computing infrastructure while developing robust risk management frameworks for sensitive research date.
With over 25 years of executive experience spanning North America, Europe, and Asia, Ben brings proven expertise in strategic technology leadership, cybersecurity program management, and digital transformation across research, public, and private sector organizations. His career includes transformative roles as inaugural CIO at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, in additional to technology leadership roles in technology, pharmaceutical, railway, and environmental consulting companies,
Ben’s thought leadership extends globally through his service on the OECD.AI Expert Group on Compute and Climate and as a speaker on AI infrastructure strategy and cybersecurity. His insights have been featured in major publications including Forbes, and he serves on multiple advisory boards including the MCTI Industry Advisory Board at the University of Guelph, 2025 AI Summit Advisory Board, 2025 SecTor AI Summit, and as a board director at PointA.
