Shahab Asoodeh is an Assistant Professor of computer science in the Department of Computing and Software at McMaster University. Before joining McMaster, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University from 2019 to 2021 and in the Knowledge Lab at The University of Chicago from 2017 to 2019. He received his PhD in Applied Mathematics from Queen’s University in 2017. His main research interests are information theory, inference, and statistics, with applications to privacy, fairness, and machine learning.
