*Review of applications for Fall 2023 internships began May 15. Applications for winter 2023 internships will be accepted now until August 31, 2023, at 1:00 PM EDT. We encourage you to submit your application early.
Before you start your application, make sure you have all your documents ready and that you meet the eligibility requirements. If you will be submitting letters of recommendation, make sure to have your Referee’s names and emails ready.
Application Requirements
1. CV;
2. University transcripts (official or unofficial if ongoing term not yet completed) or offer letter;
3. Research Statement (optional for undergraduate students); and
4. Two letters of recommendation (Required for PhD and postdoc applicants, optional for undergraduate and Masters students).
Eligibility Requirements
- Undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD students in a STEM background; or you have graduated within the last semester;
- You are registered at a university (candidates studying at universities outside Canada are eligible to apply);
- You have, at a minimum, completed your second year in an undergraduate program; and
- You have completed an Introduction to Machine Learning course.
*Please note that current graduate students or postdoctoral fellows of Vector Faculty Members are not eligible for research internships.

The Vector Institute offers both in-person and remote internships. Please note, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the backlog of work permit authorizations to Canada, the Vector Institute may only be able to offer in-person internships to individuals who already hold the required work permit.
